Chingari Koyi Bhadake Toh from movie Amar Prem – A village woman abandoned by her husband is forced into prostitution in Kolkata and forms nameless yet strong relations with a wealthy patron as well as an abused boy in the neighbourhood.
Ara Ram Tara Ram… from movie Aawaz – Mr. Bhatnagar alias Masterji comes from a poor family, and lives on a day to day basis. He has a daughter and a son, alongwith his wife, who he has fooled into believing that he has saved quite a bit of money, to retire happily, and to get his daughter married. Masterji’s dreams turn into a nightmare, as he is unable to meet his debtors, loses his job, and dies tragically, leaving his daughter to the mercy of a cruel society; his son, who has taken up crime, and his wife desolate, and destitute.
Aaja Ho Aaja from movie Anurodh – Mr. Choudhary does not approve of his son, Arun, indulging in singing songs and music. He wants him to be a businessman like himself. Out of fear of his father finding out about his continued indulgence, Arun changes his name to Sanjay Kumar. He soon becomes a popular singer, and is even hired by the local radio station to sing songs. With his increasing popularity, the risk of his dad finding out the truth has also increased, and Arun must try and keep his family life and his singing career a secret, but the question is how long will he continue to do this.
Aurat Zat Mard Se Jhagda from movie Amba – Prabha lives a wealthy lifestyle with her widowed dad, Thakur Jasbir Singh and brother Kunwar Ranvir. She receives a marriage proposal from equally wealthy Thakur Shamsher Singh, but rejects him, gets married to Rajendra, re-locates to move-in with him and his widowed and principled mom, Amba Bhanupratap Singh, & wayward brother Suraj, where she soon gives birth to Rajat. Rajendra, who secretly visits local courtesan, Munnibai, returns home intoxicated one night and sexually molests and then kills Geeta, who is their servant, Bhiku’s daughter, but is treated like a family-member. Then when Amba returns home after watching Ram Leela, she apprehends Rajendra, has him arrested, he is eventually tried in Court, found guilty after Amba’s testimony, and hanged. A devastated and humiliated Prabha swears to avenge his death, and leaves to live with her equally vengeful dad and brother, and together they plot to turn Amba and Suraj’s lives upside down – so much so that Amba and Suraj not only lose their ancestral estate, their house is burned down, they are blacklisted by the community, where Amba is the Sarpanch, and to top it all up, Suraj is arrested for killing Shamsher and sexually molesting Prabha, and if found guilty will also be hanged like his brother.
Panna Kee Tamanna Hai Ke Heera Mujhe Mil Jaye from movie Heera Panna – Heera has two passions in his life, namely his love for Reema, an air-hostess, and photography. When Reema passes away during an airplane accident, Heera is left with only passion in life – photography. During one of his photographic sessions with Raja Saab, a priceless diamond is stolen by Panna, and is hidden in Heera’s car. When Heera comes to know about this theft and that he is in possession of stolen property, he decides to turn Panna in to the police, and that’s when he comes to know that Panna is Reema’s younger sister.
Humare Siva Tumhare Aur Kitane Diwane Hai from movie Apradh – While in Germany, gorgeous looking Rita, who belongs to a gang of thieves, cons a jeweler into parting with a very expensive necklace, and is on the run from the police. She hitches a ride from ace Grand Prix racer, Ram Khanna, and plants the necklace on his person. He later graciously returns the necklace to her, and she in turns it in to her gang-leader. When the gang-leader has the necklace appraised it turns out to be a fake, and Rita is now on the run from her own gang. She again takes shelter with Ram, tells him the truth and that her real name is Meena. Ram wins the Grand Prix, and both return to India. Upon their entry at the airport, they are searched, and Ram is found to be in possession of diamonds hidden in medicinal capsules. He is immediately arrested, tried in Court, and sentenced to several years in prison. Years later he is released, and finds Meena awaiting. Both get married and decide to settle down and live life honestly. But trouble comes knocking on their door again – this time it’s Ram’s brother, Harnam, who wants Ram to join him in smuggling. Ram, initially refuses, but when Meena is abducted, he relents and joins his brother in a career of crime – a change that will have disastrous results for Meena and himself.
Keh Do Jamaane Se Hum Dilwaale from movie Double Cross (1973) – Ajay Arya passionately loves Sonia and will do anything to marry her. But Sonia breaks his heart and marries a older but much wealthier man by the name of Maganbhai. Unable to get Sonia out of his mind, Ajay hangs around her house. Then Sonia is shocked to find that Ajay is wooing her step-daughter, Rekha, right in front of her eyes. She confides in Maganbhai, who hopes that Rekha will marry a young man named Pritam. But Rekha is determined to marry Ajay and any opposition only makes her even more resolute. Then Maganbhai witnesses Ajay with a woman named Lily. Magan must now find out why Ajay continues to follow Sonia around; at the same time get ready to marry Rekha; and carry on having an affair with Lily.
Havaaon Pe Likh Do from movie Do Dooni Chaar – Delhi-based math teacher Santosh Duggal drives a scooter and lives in a small apartment along with his wife, Kusum; a collegian daughter, Payal; and a school-going son, Sandeep. He also moonlights with a tutoring center called Chatwal Coaching Class in order to make ends meet. Hoping to pacify his family with his income-tax refund, he will instead be compelled to give up its entire amount after his Meerut-based sister Urmi invites them over to a wedding. He borrows a car from a neighbor, Farooqui, and, after a rather dramatic trip, is forced to compensate him as the car gets damaged. Unable to bear taunts that he cannot afford a car, he decides to buy one. It is this decision that will force Payal to seek employment in a call center. Sandeep will confess that he has been gambling, which leaves Santosh with no alternative but to consider accepting bribes from students and risk being exposed on live TV.
Tera Mera Mel Hai from movie Aankhon Aankhon Mein – Kulwant Rai is a prominent and wealthy businessman. He relies solely on his son, Rakesh, to run his business. His second son, Naresh, is a bit of a slacker, unreliable, and is born out of marriage with his second, wife, Shobha. When Sunderlal passes away suddenly, Shobha entrusts the entire business dealings on Rakesh, and has Naresh assist him. Naresh gambles, and even molests a woman employee, and is severely reprimanded by Rakesh. Naresh, and his maternal uncle, instigate Shobha against Rakesh, who humiliates him, and as a result Rakesh leaves the house. He takes up employment in the far regions of Himachal Pradesh, in Northern India, which includes the construction of a dam. This news does not auger well with the local tribesmen, and they warn and assault him, but Rakesh persists, and is able to convince the head of the tribe, Thakur, of his good intentions. Things take a turn for the worse, when the tribe finds out that Rakesh has been wooing one of their tribeswomen, namely the daughter Thakur, Parvati, and it is at this point that Rakesh must decide to continue his romance with Parvati, or give her up for his project.
Dil Me Hamare Kon Samaya from movie Adhikar (1954) – Shekhar, Lata and their child, Shashi, live in a small town, and have just received news that he is going to be transferred to Bombay. The couple leave Shashi with their maid and attend a party but return home to find the building in flames. Lata rescues Shashi but perishes due to numerous burns. A sorrowful Shekhar leaves his daughter with her maternal grandparents and re-locates to Bombay where he rents a room from parsimonious Radhakishen. After thwarting attempts by the later to marry his senile sister, Yashodhara, he falls in love with wealthy Usha, and the duo subsequently get married. After a short span of harmony, the duo face challenges when she finds out that he had never told her about Lata and Shashi, and leaves him. The question remains: How will Shekhar deal with this separation?
