Gumaan English Lyrics – Young Stunners
[Verse 1 – Talha Anjum]
Maafi talaafi ki kaafi par aayi kaam nae
(There was no use apologizing and begging so much)
Ji aap wo leti mera naam nae
(Yes you! You don’t take my name)
Pills pop, I let the weed smoke
Sometimes just talking does not make the pain go
Tu hee aag tu he uspe parti baarish
(You are the fire, you are also the rain falling on that fire)
Mein wo khaali haveli jiski tu akeli waaris
(I am that empty mansion whose only heir is you)
Tu hee chaaon, tu hee dhoop, rangon ke saat roop
(You are the shade, you are the sunlight; you are the colour, you are also the shape)
Tu jitni khoobsurat uss se kahee’n zyada duur
(If your beauty could be measured, our distance apart is much more)
Mein likhna chor dun jo tere baare
(If I were to stop writing about you)
Mein qalam torr dun aur tu siyaahi mein basa reh
(I will break the pencil, and let you linger in the depths of my mind)
Hansa rahey zamaane ko khud se pareshaan
(Laughing with the times, I am fed up with myself)
Wo parhti thi kitaabein mein parhta hun insaan
(She used to read books, I used to read people)
Insaan bhi kya cheez hai
(A human being is what a thing!)
Aik mein wafa nae aur dusre ko wafa ki umeed hai
(One is always cheating and the other always hopes to be true to the other)
Insaan bhi kya cheez hai
(A human being is what a thing!)
Mein kal guzra phir udhar se tou yaad agayi chiz aik
(I was passing by a familiar road and some old memories popped into my ehad)
Tera number nae hai you left the city and you’re gone
(Don’t have your number, you left the city and you’re gone)
Baat karne ko hai bass ye microphone
(The only thing left to talk to is this microphone)
Wohi kaghaz, wohi qalam, lehje sakht, dil naram
(That paper, that pen, voice is strong, heart is tender)
Badd bakht bass karo udaasi har taraf
(Please stop this misfortune, sadness everywhere I look)
Jhootay tere bharam kis baat pe tu barrhamm
(The person you were with me was a lie, what are you upset with me about? )
Par hum kyun abhi stuck like a jam on a one way
(Why am I stuck like a traffic jam on a one way street?)
But someday tu samajh jaaegi duur hokey hamm se ke
(But one day you will understand when you are far away from me)
Hamm mein wo qaraar nae, pehle waali baat nae
(I don’t have that restlessness anymore, but neither same charm as before)
Tujhe kiya azaad ya di hai khud ko saza
(Did I come to terms with you leaving and free you from my heart or did I sentence myself to eternal punishment)
Lekin dil ke mohalle mein ab tera makaan nae
(But in the town of my heart, you don’t have a house there anymore)
[Chorus]
Aaj phir tu aae nae, yaad teri aayi thi
(Today you did not show up, but your memories did)
Bewaja hee bewafa se, bepanah umeed jo lagaai thi, mmm
(Without reason this infidelity, without thinking I let down my guards)
Aj phir tu ik gumaan, aj phir tu shaeri
(Today you are mystery*, Today you are a poetry)
*The urdu language has a lot of depth to it which cannot be so easily translated. Watch the above explainer video for a more in depth explanation of the meaning of Gumaan.
Socha tha tu aaegi torr ke wo rasmein saari dunya ki riwaaeti but god dammit girl
(I thought you would show up, leaving leaving everything behind but that wasn’t the case)
Aaj phir tu aae nae, yaad teri aayi thi
(Today you did not show up, but your memories did)
Bewaja hee bewafa se, bepanah umeed jo lagaai thi
(Without reason this infidelity, without thinking I let down my guards)
[Verse 2 – Talhah Yunus]
Raazi dil tou razamand hum kyun nahi
(If my heart was ready for love, why was it not prepared for heartbreak as well?)
Nai taapi pill, gaanay likhe ye shayoor bhai
(I did not take any pills, I am writing this song with complete consciousness)
Ye ajizi hai baghi isko kehte hum ghuruur nai
(This feeling is of rebellion, not of pride)
Dil e maghroor tu bhi khoob tu haram dena sood phir
(My heart is proud, but you are so beautiful, but it would be bad to show interest in you)
I’m just a text away, itna bhi duur nahi
(I am just a text away, I am not that far away)
Feels like yesterday sach ka suboot nai
(Feels like yesterday, there is no proof of the truth)
Tu hi zawal mera, tu hi hai urooj ay!
(You are my downfall, you are my rise)
Logon se puch ye qalam likhta jhoot nai
(Ask anybody, this pen does not write lies)
Ghum dekar phir dilaase kese?
(After giving me so much pain, I do not need your consolation)
Muu pe tassaliyan tou dunya mai tamashe kese?
(Relief on your face, what is this drama going on in the world?)
Hum aaj bhi kehte, na koi raqeeb, na hareef
(I still say to myself: I don’t make enemies nor do I keep enmity)
Hum thay ghareeb najanay kaati hain wo raaten kese?
(I am poor, I do not have a clue how I spent those nights)
Qalam chor ya qalam tor, aa wazan tol
(Pen thief or the master of this pen, come and way the each side)
Nai hazam shor, ye azam khoj, tu surangh khod
(Don’t want to make unnecessary noise, but search silently for greatness)
Tarazu hi nai jo tolega ye dozen bol
(No weighing scale in the world can measure all this)
Tu raqam soch in lafzon ki, aaja zakham tol
(What is the price for all this pain you have caused me?)
Insaan bhi kya cheez hai
(A human being is what a thing!)
Aik mein wafa nae aur dusre ko wafa ki umeed hai
(One is always cheating and the other always hopes to be true to the other)
Insaan bhi kia cheez hai
(A human being is what a thing!)
Jhoot ki saza nai tou tohmaten lagane pe yahan dheel hai
(No punishment for lying and you make false accusations with so much confidence)
Tu jese rehmat, tu hi hoor, tu hi noor, kohinoor
(You are my blessing, my light, my diamond)
Tu hi saya, tu hi dhoop, tu fitoor (ye fitoor)
(You are the shade and you are the sunlight; You are my obsession)
Tu itni khuubsurat k mai likhne mai majboor
(You are so beautiful that I have to pen down my words)
Badal sirhaana, kiun ke duur, tu ne tou aana nai
(I sleep on my bed looking at the clouds, and I realize you’re never going to come)
Khudkush zamana, ye ek gaana koi fasaana nai
(These self-destructive times, this may be a song but it is not fiction)
Likden afsaaanay tujh pe lekin
(I have to write down my affliction when it comes to you)

About The Artist
Young Stunners
Talhah Yunus & Talha Anjum a.k.a YOUNG STUNNERS; the real street vibe of urdu rap. They have always been critical of presenting the real essence of Rap and Hip Hop, in such a way that it is effective yet constructive to the listeners, and able to keep the interest of the listeners in the content and spirit of their music. Besides that, they also believe in the need for variety in the content which made them create records with different themes, lessons and sometimes humor. That’s how they worked things out, and with Umair Khan on the music they brought about the hits like Burger-e-Karachi, Maila Majnu, Laam se chaura etc. And that is how Young Stunners was founded on July 9, 2012.
Splitting up and working individually gave them a way to polish themselves in their own ways, and after three years, they got together and are back with some massive shots.
