Hamein Karen Koi Surat from movie Ek Nazar – Leading lawyer and public prosecutor, Raghunath Tyagi, lives an upper middle- class life in India with his only son, Akash Manmohan. Raghunath would like his son to take an interest in law or a business, but all Akash is interested in is poems. One day Akash overhears one of his poems being sung by a woman. He is attracted to this woman, whose name is Shabnam, and would like to marry her. The only problem is his dad, who is strongly opposed to his son marrying a woman of questionable character and means – a prostitute. But Akash is adamant, leaves his dad’s house and continues his affair with Shabnam. Shabnam wants to break free from the brothel madame, Aminabai, and does so, only to find that Aminabai has sold her to a man named Nawab for Rs.20,000/-. Angered at Aminabai, Shabnam goes to confront her, and as a result Amina is killed, and Shabnam is arrested and charged with first degree murder – the punishment for which, under Section 302 of the Indian Pencal Code is Life Imprisonment or Death. And it is the death sentence that the Public Prosecutor Tyagi would like to see carried out on Shabnam, who he considers a problem for himself and his son.
Jo Tum Karo Mai Kar Sakta Hu from movie Adaa – Mumbai-based Professor Anil Anand co-operates with the Police and despite of warnings from a gangster, decides to appear as a witness. Before he could do so, he is killed, leaving behind his wife, Amina, to bring up their son, Ayaan, on her own. Years later, Ayaan has grown up, respects his mother, and is a devout Muslim, who is in love with Borivali-based aspiring model, Gul, who he hopes to marry soon. Aao Aao Jaane Jahan Kya Janoon from movie Gomati Ke Kinare – Sameer lives a poor lifestyle in Bombay along with his mother, Ganga, and maternal uncle, Nekiram. Divane Hain Divano Se Too Darata Kyon Hai Yar from movie Daava – Inspector Arjun and his two siblings, Bhishma and Suraj are made targets when they decides to go against a notorious criminal gang who call themselves, ‘Chamunda brothers’. Dhadak Dhadak Dil Dhadke from movie Dastan – Judge Vishnu Sahai was brought up in an orphanage and has no knowledge of his family background nor of his religion. He is married to beautiful Mala, who he loves very much, and he has a loyal and trusting friend in Rajan. He is very much revered and respected in the city of Gorakhpur. One day he travels to Mussoorie to attend a case. He meets with a stranger, they share a table, then they play cards. After playing cards Vishnu passes out, and when he wakes he finds himself under arrest for the murder of one Dhanraj. Angered at this, he loudly voices his innocence, that he is a Judge. But he is told that his real name is Anil Kumar, the owner of a theater in Delhi, who had a dispute with a man named Dhanraj, and killed him. Shortly thereafter the Prosecuting Attorney informs the court that Dhanraj had died of a heart-attack, and as a result Vishnu is discharged. Anxious to go home to his wife and friend, he gets a shock when he is told that his body has been burnt beyond recognition in a car accident. Anxious to clear this misunderstanding, he returns home to Gorakhpur and finds that Mala is having an affair with Rajan. Devastated and heart-broken he rests on a bench at Gorakhpur Railway Station when a man named Johar approaches him, calls him Diwan Anil Kumar, and convinces him to travel with him to Delhi and his palatial home. In order to solve this riddle, Vishnu travels to Delhi, where he is welcomed at his estate by his staff and a woman named Meena. While attempting to solve the Anil Kumar mystery and how he was killed, he gets embroiled in another puzzle, when Meena calls by the name of Sunil.
