Yeh Safar Bahut Hai Song Lyrics and Translation
From the movie – 1942 A Love Story
dil naa ummid to nahin naakaam hi to hai
don’t let your heart despair; to do so is utterly useless.
lambi hai gam ki shaam magar shaam hi to hai
grief’s evening is long, but it is only an evening.
ye safar bahut hai kathin magar
this journey is exceedingly hard, but
na udaas ho mere hamasafar
don’t despair, my fellow traveler.
na udaas ho mere hamasafar
don’t despair, my fellow traveler.
ye sitam ki raat hai dhalne ko
this is the night of tyranny; let it pass.
hai andhera gam ka pighalne ko
[a night of] dark sorrows; let them dissolve.
ye sitam ki raat hai dhalne ko
this is the night of tyranny; let it pass.
hai andhera gam ka pighalne ko
[a night of] dark sorrows; let them dissolve.
zara der is mein lage agar…
in a short time, you will understand, if
na udaas ho mere hamasafar…
you do not despair, my fellow traveler…
nahin rahanevaali ye mushkilein
these difficulties shall not always be with us.
ye hain agale mod pe manzilein
these are the goals for the next turn in the road.
nahin rahanevaali ye mushkilein
these difficulties shall not always be with us.
ye hain agale mod pe manzilein
these are the goals for the next turn in the road.
meri baat ka tuu yakin kar…
believe what i say…
na udaas ho mere hamasafar…
do not despair, my fellow traveler…
kabhi dhuundh lega ye kaaravaan
some day this caravan shall find
voh nayi zamin naya aasmaan
that new land, that new sky
kabhi dhuundh lega ye kaaravaan
some day this caravan shall find
voh nayi zamin naya aasmaan
that new land, that new sky
jise dhuundhti hai teri nazar…
for which your gaze searches…
na udaas ho mere hamasafar
do not despair, my fellow traveler.
na udaas ho mere hamasafar
do not despair, my fellow traveler.
