Chand See Mehbuba Ho Meree from movie Himalay Ki God Mein – Sunil, son of D.I.G. Shyamlal Mehra, is back in India after successful completion of his medical studies. He gets an offer to work with his fiancée Dr. Neeta Verma, in a private hospital but he joins a municipality hospital, instead. According to him medicinal practice is a sacred profession which should not be treated as business. A short visit to a small village inspires Sunil to come and stay at that village and serve poor villagers, who do not have a single doctor in nearby dozens of villages. He comes to the village and sets up a hospital with limited facilities. He encounters village belle Phoolwa and his father Dayal. Phoolwa cooks food for Sunil and also helps him in routine hospital activities. Sunil and Phoolwa fall in love and decides to marry but Dayal opposes this alliance because Phoolwa is not his real daughter but his younger brother dacoit Lakhan’s, who wants to kill Sunil since he is son of a police officer who wants to arrest him. Police force raids Lakhan’s vicinity to arrest him but he only gets injured and escapes. Dayal and Phoolwa finds and brings him to surrender to the police and get him treated by doctor Sunil. But Lakhan dies. D.I.G. accepts Phoolwa as his daughter in law.

Mast Najar Dekh Idhar from movie Ek Dil Sau Afsane – Shekhar’s (Raj Kapoor) maternal grandmother Nani (Lalita Pawar) is a very loving person, and loves Shekhar dearly as a mother. She is also very religious and firm in her beliefs. She believes that every man must have a male heir to carry on the family’s name. Therefore, she will only permit Shekhar to marry a woman who will bear him a son. Shekhar presents his Nani with Sunita (Waheeda Rehman), the girl he plans to marry. Nani finds out that Sunita cannot bear any children and disapproves of her. Shekar and Sunita marry anyway, and to pacify Nani, pretend that a friend’s son is their’s. But for how long will the shrewd Nani allow the wool to be pulled over her eyes?
Aa Ja Re from movie Aah – Allahabad-based Raj Raibahadur lives a wealthy lifestyle with his widowed businessman dad. His mom had passed away, a victim to tuberculosis, compelling his anxious dad to keep him away from the hustle, bustle and pollution associated with cities. As a result Raj ends up in the countryside, involved in the construction of a dam. His dad asks him to commence correspondence with a Riva-based young woman by the name of Chandra Rai, with a view to get him married, to which Raj agrees. The correspondence starts, and even without meeting each other, Chandra and Raj fall in love. They cement they love when they finally meet with each other. When Raj tells him dad, the marriage proposal is put forth, but to Raj’s shock and dismay, Chandra rejects him. It is only later that Raj finds out that the woman he had corresponded with was not Chandra, but her younger sister, Neelu. Then the Raibahadur family physician, Dr. Kailash, gives them devastating news that Raj has tuberculosis and is not expected to live too long. Watch what Raj does to convince Chandra of his love, and try to prove to Neelu that she should forget him and get married to Kailash instead.
Ai Pyase Dil Bejuban Tujhko Le Jau Kaha from movie Begunaah – Widower Jeevanlal gets arrested for assaulting a Pharmacist as he is unable to afford medicines to treat his ill daughter, Guddu. Subsequently jailed, his repeated and vain attempts to escape only end up increasing his sentence, leaving Guddu to fend on her own. Years later he will re-surface as a wealthy male and prospective Mayor known simply as J.V.; while Guddu will be living two lives – one as the single mother of a young child, Kiran; and the other as a gun-toting alcoholic prostitute known as Bulbul.
Ham Tujhse Mohabbat Karke Sanam from movie Awaara – Raju lives as a derelict as a result of being estranged from his bitter father, a district judge, who threw Raju’s mother out of the house years ago. Raju shacks up with a Dacoit (pickpocket bandit) as his surrogate father only to realize that the man is actually responsible for the original misunderstanding between his parents. Raju kills him, and then tries killing his father, but fails, is arrested, and is taken to court right before his very own father, who presides there as the Judge. Raju has his childhood girlfriend as his legal representative, and the onus is now on his father, who must pass judgment without showing any personal sentiment.

Phir Koyi Muskaraya from movie Apne Hue Paraye – Rekha lives a middle-class lifestyle with her widowed mom. When she is five, her mom’s friend, Nalini, passes away, compelling 5 year old Lata and her maid, Rampyari, to move in with them. Rekha is friendly with Shankar, and is sad when his family re-locates to Kanpur. Years later Rekha has matured, Shankar has returned as a qualified doctor, and asks her mom for Rekha’s hand in marriage, to which she agrees. Before the engagement could take place, Rampyari finds that Shankar is having an affair with Lata, compelling both of them to get married, leaving Rekha heart-broken. After the marriage, Lata moves out to live with Shankar, and Rekha’s mom passes, leaving her a heavily mortgaged house and many debts. Rekha’s re-pays the debts and moves out to live her family servant, Fohkat, his son, Makhan, and Makhan’s wife, Misri. Rekha finds employment and falls seriously ill. Shankar comes to treat her and asks her to come and live with them. When Rekha refuses, Lata comes over and makes her change her mind, and as a result both Fohkat and Rekha move in Shankar’s house – not realizing that their entry will result in a murder in the household – which will not only turn everyone’s lives upside down but also throw open their individual lives to a public scandal.
Aankhon Mein Rang from movie Ek Phool Char Kaante – Bombay-based Sanjeev lives a wealthy lifestyle with his parents. He dramatically meets with wealthy Sushma Saxena and falls in love with her. He is quite displeased when he sees her a number of time – always in the company of a different male. The air is cleared when he finds that the men are her paternal uncles. He introduces her to his parents, and his father goes to meet the uncles in order to finalize the marriage – but they reject this alliance insisting that Sanjeev does not measure up to their standards in either religion, yoga, acting, and music. In order to wed her Sanjeev must now satisfy each and every uncle – not realizing that he does face competition from ‘yoga expert’ Shyam Dhawan, who has already convinced one uncle – and has yet to realize that even if does overcome all competition and does manage to convince each and every one of the uncles – how is he going to get approval from the other three disapproving uncle? and what will be their reaction when they find out he has been pulling wool over their eyes?
